Citation:
Raiden II (1993) and Raiden DX (1994) by SEIBU KAIHATSU INC. (セイブ開発) were notoriously known to incorporate encryption that was very difficult to break, rendering it unplayable for a very long time in MAME. Since 2002, many MAME developers were working tirelessly to get this arcade shmup playable in MAME. Now, in an upcoming build of MAME (a later v0.154 revision build or v0.155), Raiden DX is fully playable. It still has a few issues here and there such as:

*Some sprite corruptions
*The third button in DX (the rapid fire button) is not implemented.
*Some alpha transparencies (the logo and some of the water in some stages) are not emulated.
Otherwise, Raiden DX and, presumably, Raiden II, will be fully playable after more than a decade of waiting![/quote]
