Hi guys ! when i try to play with Snes9x 1.54.1 (64bit version) on windows 7 pro 64 bit

I cannot playing because i got this message:

The program can not start because d3dx9_42dll is missing from the computer.Try reinstalling the program to solve this issue.
Obviously i have tried to reinstall the emulator but without positive result .

I would like to change the Zsnes 1.51 that is very old with this snes9x!!! How can i fix the problem??
Or better : there is another good emulator than i can use instead of this snes9x??? ( i do not want to change nothing in windows folder because the mame is very good with it ).

Waiting for a cool reply , thanks in advance !!

Just get and install DirectX 9 with all developper dlls: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8109

That's a common issue with many emulators.

      Ok !

Thank you Firebrand ! But is this emulator snes9x Worth of all this effort ?

I do not want to ruin my only windows 7 pro sistem!

The directx file is the direct X june 2010 SDK and when I run it said:

Please type the location where you want to place the extracted files.....
      what i must do???

(How Works the higan or bsnes emulators?) ( what do you prefer for snes emulation??)

      Thanks.

For DirectX, just use the default options and follow the instructions.

The best SNES emulator is currently Higan and it is an evolution of the older Bsnes program, by the same author, but it is a bit more complex than Snes9x.

I can't agree more, higan is currently the most accurate SNES emulator so far but isn't the most user friendly one.
SNES9x has a good balance between accuracy and easy use, so if higan is too complex for you, you can definately switch to SNES9x.
And about ZSNES, leave this old emulator to history, its time is over.

For DirectX, there is no worry about it. The extracted files are part of the installer, you can extract them anywhere you want. You can even delete them after installation, it doesn't matter much.

D'ailleurs il n'est même plus référencé sur PlanetEmu

A desseins.

Thank you very much Firebrand !!

All is fixed up now ! snes9x is working!!

I can play also with Nestopia Undead edition ! Is it worth of a try instead of nestopia 140?

                    Commentaire

I can't say I know that much that Nestopia fork, but I guess it got some fixes and enhancements. Nestopia was said to be one of the best NES emulator at its time, so I guess it worths to give a try.
